In line with the objective of being the employer of choice within our industry, our Living Wage commitment means that everyone working for Nationwide Window Cleaning is paid above the level of the Government’s ‘National Living Wage’.
The Living Wage is an hourly rate set independently and updated annually, and is calculated according to the basic cost of living using the ‘Minimum Income Standard’ for the UK.
Decisions about what to include in this standard are set by the public; it is a social consensus about what people need to make ends meet.
Managing Director Thornton Tasker said of this achievement:
“Adopting the Living Wage forms part of our aim to be a responsible employer of choice across the UK, and despite the additional cost, overall it was felt strongly to be the right thing to do.
We are committed to being a socially responsible employer that endeavours to improve the quality of life for all of our 260 staff.
Employers choose to pay the Living Wage on a voluntary basis, and we are delighted to become part of the Living Wage movement as an accredited employer.”
